Riika Ruottinen released a book of poems in 2018 called Unestani heräsin.
I really love those poems and I had big plans to record an album based on those poems.
But my focus went someplace else and i got only 2 songs written.
We played those songs at the release party and also on some solo gig I did with Riika on piano.
Now almost 6 years later I decided I want to release those songs and started recording. I came up with an idea to also translate those poems and sing them both in original Finnish words and also in English. I did the translations with some help from Dianne Moore from the band Cranberry Merchants.

Jusu Tapio recorded amazing piano parts.
